Speaker Bio's 

Gerard A. Figurelli 

Gerard A. Figurelli graduated from Southern Evangelical Seminary in 2005, where he was privileged to study under Dr. Norman Geisler, and earn a Master of Arts in Christian Apologetics. In 2011, Gerard completed a second Masters (Church-State Studies) from Baylor University. Gerard has been a speaker at numerous apologetics events and since 2009 has served as Pastor-Teacher at First Colony Bible Chapel.

Brian Thomas 

Brian Thomas received his bachelors degree in biology (1993) and masters in biotechnology (1999) from Stephen F. Austin State University. He has taught biology, chemistry and anatomy at the college level and since 2008 is the Science Writer at the Institute for Creation Research, where he is responsible for contributing daily news, magazine articles, editing, and speaking on creation issues.

Dr. Paul R. Shockley 

Dr. Paul R. Shockley is Professor of Bible & Theology at the College of Biblical Studies, adjunct Professor of Philosophy & Theology at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and adjunct lecturer for Stephen F. Austin’s division of Interdisciplinary Studies. Paul received his B.A. in History, SFA; Th.M from Dallas Theological Seminary; M.A., History of Ideas, the UT-Dallas; Ph.D., Philosophy, Texas A&M University.

Dr. Richard Martinez 

Dr. Richard Martinez is the Chair of Management, Marketing, and Business at Houston Baptist. He has a Ph.D. in Strategic Management from Texas A&M University. His research focuses on the integration of faith and learning, especially in business. Dr. Martinez’ most recent work has focused on spiritual capital, and building a model of integrating the Christian faith in business.

Benjamin D. Hatch 

Benjamin D. Hatch holds a J.D. from Emory University School of Law and a B.A. in Religious Studies and Political Science from Southern Methodist University. Mr. Hatch presently operates a general law practice in the Houston area and is a frequent teacher of both youth and adults at First Colony Bible Chapel.

Kurt Wise 

Kurt Theodore Wise is a 2005 graduate of Southern Evangelical Seminary in Charlotte, NC, studying under Dr. Norman Geisler and earning a Master of Arts in Christian Apologetics. In 2006, Kurt founded the Center for Christian Apologetics, organizing and speaking at numerous local conferences. He currently serves as the teaching pastor for Alvin Bible Church and as an adjunct instructor of apologetics at the College of Biblical Studies.
